How an AI visibility audit is done, and what follows

Start with an audit or go straight to research. Here's what I do and what you get.

Diagnose

How the audit is run

I start by writing the questions a buyer in your market would ask an AI tool.

Some ask for a statistic, some are everyday questions and some name your business. An entry audit uses six questions. An extended audit uses 16.

I put each question to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and in an extended audit to Google AI Overviews and AI Mode as well. Every question runs two or three times, each in a fresh session, because AI answers change from one run to the next. Every answer is coded with one of seven outcome codes, and I review every one, so you see which sources were cited and whether your business was one of them.

An extended audit also finds your citation gaps: questions your buyers are asking that no authoritative Australian source answers yet. I rank them by commercial value, name the one piece of evidence to create first and quote it at a fixed price. You finish knowing where your best opportunity is and what it costs to act on it.

Fix

How your research becomes the answer your buyers are looking for

Your business probably knows something your buyers want answered.

It might be in a survey you've run, in your own records, or in a question nobody has researched yet. I turn that into original research with your business as the source.

I start with the story. I look for the result that matters most to your buyers and build everything around that headline. If you don't have data yet, I design the study around the headline you need and manage the survey company through fieldwork, so you deal with one person.

Then I write it up and get it ready for your site. Each finding is written as a unit: the number, the sentence that credits you and a chart headline that states the result. You finish with the whitepaper, the landing page copy and the schema markup for your developer to add, ready to publish under your name and written to be quoted.

Measure

How your AI visibility is measured

Once your research is published, a measurement wave shows you what happened next.

I ask the same buyer questions as your extended audit, on the same AI tools, in fresh sessions, and compare the answers with your baseline. If you started with a study, the first wave sets the baseline.

You get a written report on which sources appear, which have dropped out and where your findings turn up, with one recommendation. Run another wave later and you can see how your visibility moves over time.

A wave reports what was observed in those answers, so you have evidence to assess and share.

One point of contact, with specialists where you need them

When you work with Worth Quoting, you work with me. On an audit, I design the questions, review every coded answer and write the report. On research, I find the story and write the findings, the whitepaper and the landing page copy.

A study also needs a survey company to run the fieldwork and the statistics. I select the right survey company for the job, then engage and manage it, so you don't have to. If your research needs a media release or a designed report, I can organise a PR agency and a designer, quoted separately, or work with your own. I brief them and review their work either way.

Findings are written and marked up to give them the best chance of being cited. Citations are never guaranteed. A measurement wave reports what was observed.

About Erryn Worth

I run Worth Quoting, helping Australian businesses become a source for AI answers through original research.

I've spent more than 30 years in media, marketing and communications, across television and film, professional services, financial advice and insurance. Most recently I built and led a six-person content team at Findex and established its original research programs. Before that, I led the marketing function at ASX-listed Centrepoint Alliance as Head of Marketing and Communications.

My earlier work included television production, script work and research. Finding the story and understanding who it's for have been part of the job throughout.

I started Worth Quoting to help businesses find a useful result in their research and give it a clear source others can refer to.

I work directly with clients, with fixed prices and clear scopes.
